What parent doesn’t want the best for their children? It may be a cliché, but it’s true – every parent wants nothing more than to see their children achieve their hopes and dreams. Education is the key to success in life, and now more than ever, parents across the Granite State are looking for new learning opportunities for their children.
The best way to educate one child won’t necessarily work for another, so it’s crucial that families have the freedom to choose from many different types of education providers. Choices range from magnet programs that focus on certain areas of study, such as the arts or science, to online education, or public charter schools. Parents can homeschool their children or send them to private schools.
By adopting Education Freedom Accounts, Granite Staters can ensure that all children – no matter where they live or what their family’s income level – have access to educational opportunities that fit their needs.
Education Freedom Accounts are grants that re-think education and empower New Hampshire families to direct their child’s state education funding towards learning experiences that are as unique as their child. Parents can use these grants for any education or learning expense, both inside and outside the classroom.
No matter the education provider they select – or wish they could select – parents give similar reasons for their support of Education Freedom Accounts: they provide freedom to parents, give them access to different options, and allow them to select education providers and experiences based on the unique needs of their children.
As one mother of a child with special needs shared, “Every child is different, and every child learns differently. There is no ‘one size fits all’ educational model. No matter how well-intentioned, no system can replace the love and support of a child’s own parents, who want nothing better than to see her succeed.”
New Hampshire families overwhelmingly support this sentiment. Current polling shows that 73 percent of Granite Staters polled support Education Freedom Accounts (https://edchoice.morningconsultintelligence.com/new-hampshire/).
All children learn differently, and every child should have the education that is the right fit for them to realize their aspirations in life. Having education freedom gives children the opportunity to flourish and grow to their fullest potential.
